What will be our first journey? i'm for it. we must make DevIRC first. i'm thinking about PYthon, GTK+ (PyGTK packadge too), since its not heavy to learn (both) and there's tons of PYGtk guys out there. it'd be no problem porting it to *nix, GNU/Linux and windows. we could use Twisted as connector to IRC or write our own socketing system. or, if anyone is good at C# (which i'm not
) could write GUI, other one the main connector and ping/pong sender. I have kind of an idea that there must be multi-skins option. we must make list
or i think its already here on this forum somewhere.
my words:
DevIRC
written in Python and GTK+ (working on all platforms without problems)
First using Twisted as protocol handler, later maybe our own socketing system
changable skins with icons
usual buttons like op, deop, voice, devoice etc
special oper-menu, if you are detected as having oper mode
etc etc, its quite long list.
compiled to EXE, or packadged as tar.gz (source for unix-like systems) - bhaal might wanna do exportation to Mac OS X packadge. we'll see
but we must grab more guys together first tho, i'm not very good as heavy-progs python programmer, and there are multiple ways (i always grab longest and worst, which doesn't work always), so we must grab some more PYGTK'd people first.
